Estoy enamorado de Espana!
We took a short hour bus ride from Madrid. I was expecting a beautiful scenic drive, but....... , I have to say the drive there wasn´t much to look at. It reminded me of Ensenada, Mexico, minus the sombrero and hangover! Once we arrived, we hit up a cafe because Elizabeth and I were feening for some cafe con leche! After we woke up, we caught a taxi to the beginning of the historical section. I had actually went to Toledo the past Saturday, but loved it so much I wanted to go again. The second visit still took my breath away or maybe it was the ¨thighs of steel¨ hill. On any note, we meandered around taking pictures and posing like tourists.
While Glenn and Elizabeth visited the Toledo Cathedral, I hung out in a cafe talking to the locals since I had visited the cathedral on my own the past weekend. The guys in the cafe were hilarious. We all spoke in Spanish and were joking around. We talked about Scarface, Robert Deniro, and how "Madrid is so overrated and why didn´t I choose to live in Toledo!" They were an awesome group of guys. Before I left, I asked to take their picture. The guys were dressed in black uniforms from head to toe. The head guy, Carlos, told me to wait a moment before snapping the photo. I didn´t notice until after I had taken the shot, but he had placed a white napkin under the neck of shirt to look like a priest! We all got a good laugh, but even more so two minutes later, when the priest from the church down the alley walks in! HAHA! You should have seen Carlos´s face! He barely had time to tear away his napkin prop. He kept telling me not to show the priest my photos. I told him not to worry and that I didn´t have any pictures of little boys! OOOOHHHHH.....just kidding!!
Well, the day went on perfectly and I have to say we were all exhausted. We all decided to go back to our houses to rest and freshen up for the night ahead. Glenn´s host sister, Andrea, and her friends were going out dancing that night and invited all of us along.
At 11:30 p.m. we met at a metro stop near the club we were going to, Serrano 61. It was outrageously expensive, but tons of outrageous fun! We danced the night away! I was so happy they were playing all my favorite dance songs, even some salsa and reggaeton! YEAH BABY!
Needless to say, at 4 in the morning, Madrid is still hustling. The streets and buses were packed! I landed in bed shortly before 5 a.m. I love the city that never sleeps!
