Optimism Can Be Taught
I know that life can be rough out there and masses of people are suffering severe hardships, but that is no reason to give up and be a stick in the mud! You have to wipe yourself off and throw yourself back in the game. When you look at life in a positive scope, no matter your circumstances, things really do improve.
According to Dr. Elizabeth Scott
-an awesome woman who has written about, counseled and coached people on effective stress management and healthy living strategies for 13 years on About.com
-optimists enjoy better health and increased longevity over pessimists, experience less stress, and achieve more in life.
I wholeheartedly agree. Believe me, I wasn't always Miss Molly Sunshine. I used to have a "witchy" attitude, think that people owed me something, and believed there was a lightening rod dangling over my head. Then one day the light bulb finally clicked on ...or possibly my rod had been struck one to many times, and I finally opened my eyes! It wasn't everyone else who had a problem. It was me!
If I wanted to have the good life and to be happy, I had to act happy! I had to smile even when I felt I had nothing to smile about. Since I made the decision to be happy, good things just come and bite me in the ass unexpectedly. And, that makes me happy! No, but seriously.
Like a wise man once said,"Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine." And for all my pessimist friends rolling their eyes out there, this is for you!
"When you feel dog tired at night, it may be because you've growled all day long."
