Onward ho! Spain!
In September I made the decision that I wanted to volunteer abroad for a couple months. I have always wanted to live abroad and what a better way to do so! I did some research and found Geovisions Corp. They have a great program called the Conversation Corps where you live with a local host family learning about their way of life, while teaching them conversational English. It is a win-win for both!
I am sooooo excited! I signed up in early November and just paid off my volunteer trip last week. There were many awesome countries to choose from. It was toss up between France and Spain. I decided on Spain because I have never been there and I am hoping to improve my Spanish skills too. I always had an admiration for the Spanish culture, their sense of family and their values. I will be there for two months starting March 2010. Right now, I just wait to hear back from a host family.
I can't stop thinking about it! I've literally been doing the happy dance everyday!
Congrats and thanks for following me! Now we can follow each other and good luck on Spain. So you already put in your application? Did you choose March or was that the earliest date available?
ReplyDeleteI submitted my application in early November then just paid it off this month. I requested to go in March because I have too much going to going on to leave any sooner. When are you leaving?
