“The bold adventurer succeeds the best.”
Well, its official. Only two more weeks left of school and my life is free of homework. Free from ten page essays and cramming for intense presentations. Free of being anchored to California. It has been challenging these past couple years, but I made it and I am so proud!
When I graduated from high school, attending college full time was the last thing on my mind. I threw myself into 40-50 hour work weeks instead trying to climb the corporate ladder. After five years in and feeling unchallenged, I asked myself, "Is this really what I want to do for the next thirty years of my life????" Of course, I played out the scenario of being 100 years old and on my death bed evaluating the paths I took in life. I did not want to be another shoulda, coulda, woulda gal. I wanted to do everything I have ever dreamed. I decided at that exact moment I would stop holding back. I would achieve everything I set out to do whether it was living in a different country, learning Japanese or completing my bachelors degree.
I learned the only way you are going to get anywhere in life is to work hard at it. If you shoot for the stars and hit the moon, that's OK. You've got to shoot for something. Many people don't even take that shot.
It is easy to blame your origins for your failures but it is just as easy to turn your back on your past and create a successful future. With hard work and a positive attitude, you can achieve any goal you have set for yourself. Believe it.
