Work Survival = Veggie Steamer and Sangria

What a wonderful end to a productive day! I celebrated my first day at work by treating myself to a houseful of delicious groceries from Trader Joes. A full cupboard equals a happy Brandi. I even took a break from cooking tonight. I know you're thinking, but Brandi you're supposed to be cooking more, becoming more domesticated, and all that domesticated stuff. Yeah yeah, I know, but can you cut me some slack this once? I haven't worked a full eight hour day in ages and I am exhausted. Worst of all, my contacts are going out on me and my eyes are red as a devil in a rosebush.

I have many nice laid-back coworkers and I really love the fact they all seem to enjoy their jobs. I jumped right in with them and had a good time doing so. Much of my responsibilities are similar to my last job, so this old bitch doesn't need to learn too many new tricks, except for the software and products. I could totally picture myself being a lifer there!

Over the weekend, to celebrate my new job, (hey, new job equals excuse to go shopping!) I bought a collapsible vegetable steamer and some Rick Bayless Sangria mix. While I understand the Sangria part, I've always loved me some booze. I am still in shock I am actually spending money on fancy kitchenware. This is still extremely surreal for me. I know some people might think it is just a vegetable steamer, but me spending money on my kitchen is like a cow that squirts lemonade, it just DOES NOT happen! I'd much rather blow my cash on traveling. But, alas, priorities. Speaking of priorities, I have to get my patootie moving on the rubber highway (treadmill sounds so blasé). I can't be forfeiting all my goals in one night!
