Mr. Golden Sun, please shine down on me
Our East Bay weather has been pretty crummy with average temps in the 60's and only a few days with highs in the 80's. Not exactly sand castle weather, nor popsicle, shorts, or skorts weather for that matter. This has been a cruel summer and the sun has left, leaving me here on my own. Although Mr. Golden Sun has been M.I.A, the family and friend get-togethers and barbecues have been shining through almost every weekend.
This past weekend we celebrated our good friend's Angie and Ryan's engagement at their family's home with fantastic carne asada, fruit kebabs, and endless pours of wine and margaritas. It was a super fun night and I wish the best to the hot little lovebirds. Sunday, we played tour guides to our family from out of town. We explored the Napa and Sonoma wine country and managed to stay semi-sober until we arrived to my parents home for a barbecue. It is common knowledge that no soul can ever remain sober at the "La Garrigue" home.
We settled in for grilled Italian spiced chicken, grilled asparagus, onions, zucchini, and a never ending bowl of salad and Spanish rice. With the remaining room left in our aspiring Buddha bellies, we decided to throw back some Coors and white wine. Such a classy combination reserved for only the finest of characters.
It was a food and booze packed weekend and we have the guts to prove it! Looks like the upcoming week will be reserved for detox.....and hopefully a day at the beach if that huge yellow mass in the sky decides to enlighten us all.
